Dear Friend,

It is hard to believe that it has been twelve years since you first elected me to serve our community on the Sylvania Board of Education. Thank you for giving me the privilege to serve you and our community’s children. Sylvania’s public schools reflect the health and viability of our community.  Our excellent schools are the primary reason people chose to move to, stay in, and do business in Sylvania. With the economy the way it is, the next four years should be challenging ones, especially in public education.  I have the Experience in Excellence to guide our schools, both fiscally and academically, into the future. 

In the past twelve years, I have worked to:

• Improve Our Schools Academically – The district’s performance on the state’s report card has improved from a rating of Continuous Improvement, to Effective, to Excellent, to Excellent with Distinction the last two years.

• Improve Our Fiscal Accountability – The district’s financial stability has improved through visioning and planning using responsible budgeting and cost control.

• Advocate for Excellent Educational Experiences for All Students – Sylvania Schools provide quality experiences in and out of the classroom and meet the diverse educational needs of all students.

I ask for your support again this fall. Please remember to vote on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, or even better, to vote early or by absentee ballot.  Your contribution, anything that your family can afford, to Citizens for Pam Haynam, will help me continue to improve our excellent district.
